This document provides detailed instructions on managing packing lists within Salesforce. The process involves utilizing a newly organized system to create, modify, and track packing lists efficiently. Users will learn to navigate through the new sub-document forms, utilize custom fields, and access linked documents to ensure smooth shipping and order management.
Step 1
Begin by opening the new function related to the reorganization of the packing list. You will find that the packing list has been reorganized within Sales Order, leading to the initiation of a new form known as a sub-document. Activate this form to enter all necessary elements with a classic input structure for the table.

Step 2
Within the form, specify the quantity of items needed, utilizing elements like note and info sections. Use features such as bold and italic text to format data and select a career, customer, or option from your career list.

Step 3
Decide the type of parcel or sub-component from the career list. Introduce and access the new linked document feature to view paired documents effectively.

Step 4
Switch to a new document if required. Attachments can be added as before, but now the forms are separated to accommodate new options.

Step 5
The new custom field feature is available at the packing list level. When documents are present, they will be integrated within this list.

Step 6
The document location is indicated here, with a dedicated linked document. The previous separate tab has been replaced for better visibility, especially if numerous custom fields are connected to the document.

Step 7
To view the updated packing list, navigate to the linked document. This allows you to access other data, such as shipping details, including units and elements within the packing list.

Step 8
You can track shipments, view tracking numbers, customer details, addresses, and quantities. A green indicator shows the packing list has been shipped.

Step 9
The process remains the same, allowing for data packaging as previously done. For packing multiple parts of a sales order, reopen the packing list to input a new quantity.

Step 10
Input a suitable new quantity, for instance, 5, and add any additional packed data to form the document.

Step 11
Upon saving a draft, the draft packing list will appear, showing that it is unsent and items remain in the warehouse. Re-activation or creation of a new list is necessary for any changes.

Step 12
Opening the draft packing list allows users to either pause or continue editing the existing document, making special packing lists visible.

Step 13
A new report feature titled ‘ready for packing’ has been added within the report section. This feature displays only those sales orders ready for packing, while previously existing packing list reports remain available.

Step 14
A specific report called ‘ready for packing’ has been included, allowing you to view orders specifically prepared for packing.

Step 15
By clicking the plus icon, a new packing list is generated. This case involves inserting multiple numbers.

Step 16
Sort priorities based on quantity sufficiency, allowing you to manage orders efficiently.

Step 17
This update introduces an additional customization option, enhancing flexibility within your management system.

Step 18
In the custom fields, the packing list option allows the entry of additional data. An internal number can be inserted.

Step 19
Define parts or insert the zip code from the status field. Insert read-only fields and copy the zip code from the customer.

Step 20
Copy the customer’s zip code to the document header’s custom fields and item fields. Insert the list type and select the ‘yes’ option.

Step 21
Select ‘no’ as the default value. Activating the sales order or custom packing list will enable internal tracking number or zip code entry.

Step 22
The document was not automatically created, hence does not possess a zip code. Create a new position by copying from the existing field.

Step 23
When creating the packing list, observe the available parcel status for the sales order.

Step 24
Ensure the customer’s zip code is inserted; otherwise, identify the absence.

Step 25
In cases where a zip code is absent, activating the packing list will result in automatic transfer.

Step 26
The Report Designer and other options support this feature, allowing for packing list creation.

Step 27
The ‘ready for shipping’ option is available, displaying sales orders and their corresponding packing list status.

Step 28
View the status of orders ready for shipping or partner shipped, providing clarity on shipment readiness.

Step 29
Choose options like the carrier, parcel size, and tracking number as needed.

Step 30
Integration with shippers is a potential separate topic for further exploration.

Step 31
This concludes the update. Thank you for following along.
