Work Order Time Tracking Update
We’ve released a significant update to how you track time within Work Orders, offering greater flexibility and detail to suit your specific business needs.
Key Changes & Features:
New Time Tracking Types: Within the Work Order itself, you can now define the type of time tracking to use

Manual Entry:
This is a simpler option where you manually input the amount of time spent on realized work operations1. This method doesn’t precisely define who worked, when they started or finished, or the duration of specific tasks. Its purpose is to capture the total realized time, which can then be used, for example, with an actual cost or hourly cost per work operation to determine costs for the finished product. If configured for “realized and planned time,” the system assumes planned time equals realized time
- Time Sheet: This option involves creating dedicated time sheets, often assigned to specific workers, for a more detailed tracking approach. This is a more complex operation than Manual Entry.
- Detailed Time Sheets: When the Time Sheet option is selected, a time sheet document is formed, potentially for each worker.
- Time sheets can be opened as a “sub-document” where you can assign specific workers to work operations1. You can assign all operations to one worker or split them among multiple workers.
- Time can be entered manually within the time sheet, specifying hours and the start/end time1. Operations with entered time may be marked in green.
- There is an option to “Split” time entries, allowing time tracking across multiple days.
- Time sheet entries can be edited or corrected.
- Time sheets have statuses like “ready for assignment,” “partial assigned,” and “assigned”1.
- You can mark a time sheet as “Complete” to confirm the work for that worker is finished2. There is also an “Undo to complete” option.
Stopwatch Functionality:
Time sheets support a stopwatch feature to track time in real-time.
- You can activate a stopwatch for a specific operator and operation.
- The system shows when the stopwatch was started.
- You can pause the stopwatch2. Continuing after a pause creates a new row with the new start time and date.
- The stopwatch can also be used from the mobile application2. The app may indicate when time measurement is active.
- Worksheet View: Time sheets can also be viewed and managed from a “Worksheet” view. From this view, you can see and measure time, activate stopwatches for different tasks or workers, and pause/start time tracking.
Mobile Application Support:

The time tracking features, including Time Sheets, are accessible and functional via the mobile application.
- Workers can view time sheets assigned to them (“Assign to me”) on the mobile app.
- They can start and pause time tracking for assigned operations directly from the mobile app. The app might blink to indicate time measurement is on.
- Completing work operations and even “Force Complete” a time sheet is possible through the mobile app.
- Flexible Assignment Methods: Work operations can be assigned in two ways:
- Directly from within the Work Order form.
- From a separate “Work Operation Assignment” list or form, which allows for bulk actions like creating time sheets for selected operations and assigning them to workers1. This separate list can prioritize assignments based on Work Order priority (e.g., “high priority” items appear first).
Potential Benefits :
Increased Flexibility: Choose the time tracking method (Manual Entry or Time Sheet) that best fits the complexity and reporting needs of specific work orders or your organization.
- Improved Cost Estimation: Manual Entry allows estimating costs based on total realized time and hourly costs.
- Detailed Worker Tracking: Time Sheets enable tracking exactly which worker performed which operation, when, and for how long….
- Real-time Monitoring: The stopwatch feature and mobile app support allow for real-time tracking of work duration.
- Simplified Data Entry: Workers can easily track their time directly via the mobile app, reducing potential delays or inaccuracies from manual recording away from the work area2.
- Better Assignment Management: The separate assignment list allows for more efficient management and prioritization of work distribution to employees.
