Introduction to mobile ERP

As the world is going faster, deadlines becoming shorter, time management is becoming a must have-skill to deliver results in nowadays businesses. That is also affecting ERP software solutions to switch and push from desktop versions towards Mobile ERP systems. We are going to see and analyze all the advantages and merits that mobile ERP solutions provide us.
Advantages of the Mobile ERP
There are many benefits of using Mobile ERP solution that make our company run smoother, with a lot less room for mistakes, and way more precise tracking all actions taken on daily basis. Here we will only go through some of them, which are:

In the following text we will try to provide you a deeper insight in each of the advantages mentioned in a list above.
Compatibility with multiple devices
Although it is most frequently used on Android and iOS operating systems, some ERP solutions can also run on Windows as well. Properly designed cloud-based ERP software, based on HTML5 User interface can be accessed from multiple devices with different screen sizes. Having these options available completely releases us from having to spend any additional money on buying new hardware.
Made to work remotely
The mobile ERP system allows us to work from home, from customer’s location, anywhere inside the factory or even anywhere on the planet, and all the work done is in real-time. That means that everyone from the company at any moment has live insight into company data. By having that, for example, our sales team which is on customer location can make instant orders which will be seen in the warehouse and ready for packing and shipping in the shortest possible period of time. That creates satisfaction not just for our and your company, but for customers as well.
Synchronization in real-time
Any changes made on the desktop version of ERP software are visible in a couple of moments on the mobile version in real-time. Also, every change gets recorded with exact time and date which means, that we can see which employee made those changes. Another benefit of real-time synchronization is that there is no need to do the same job twice.
Various functions of mobile ERP
Since mobile ERP is more adjusted and useful for some features within the software, it allows us to deliver proof of delivery to our customers, update sales orders according to customer’s requirements on-site, track worker timesheets for various operations in manufacturing and calculate salaries even more precisely. Mobile ERP can also be used to scan barcodes via phone camera and that way you can receive items, do stock adjustments, make stocktaking, etc…
Mobile ERP shop floor management
It is quite familiar that ERP solutions are improving workflow in the office for top management of the company, including accountants and administrative workers. However, it is underestimated how mobile ERP can make things run much smoother on the shop floor. Since in most cases manufacturing process is tracked with .xls spreadsheets, it is quite easy to miss or lose some important information for the entire manufacturing process. This is where mobile ERP solution comes in which gathers everything in one place and it has a real-time insight of every stage on the shop floor.

Search in ERPAG mobile app
In case you want to look up an item, see the status of some document or check what you have in your storage locations, the “Search” panel will allow you to do that.

Item Look-Up will show us a list of all of our items with quantity, SKU-s, list of all documents (Sales orders, Work orders, Purchase orders, Free stock quantity) where our items have been involved. We can set quantity (increase or decrease) and print labels for each item. There is also an option to choose how to search for a specific item, whether via barcode or search by name or keyword.
Document Look-Up – This option allows us to look for any document within our system. We can search for a document in two ways:
- By typing document number, which will enlist us all documents with first starting number or letter, and then narrow to the wanted one while we keep typing remaining characters until we find the document we’re searching for.
- By switching our mobile device camera on and scanning the QR code on the document, once the scanning is complete, ERPAG will open that document on our device and allow us to make amendments.
Once we open the document we were searching in one of two previously mentioned methods, we can also email that document via “Mail to” option or send it to Print from our mobile device.
Storage Locations will enlist all storage locations that we have inside our warehouses and show the number of items on each location. We can open each of their locations and search for the wanted item and manipulate according to our needs. We can search for Storage locations by barcode, using our mobile device camera or by typing the location we’re looking for.
ERPAG mobile inventory
Good inventory management is essential for fast and precise operating for every company. Having the ability to do that on-site, right in your warehouse, and applying any changes directly into the system that way everyone can see it in a couple of moments saves a lot of time and energy. It reflects immediately on the company’s effectiveness and profitability.
In ERPAG mobile app we can receive all goods ordered via Purchase orders, Pack goods from inventory as soon as Sales Orders get created, and ship them to our customers in the shortest possible time.
Receive button will open a list of all Purchase Orders created by the company towards our suppliers. Once the goods from one of the Purchase Orders physically arrive in our company, we can select that PO and enter the exact amount of items received, because in real practice it happens very often that we don’t receive the same amount as we ordered. After we enter the correct amount, we can click Receive and those items will be now in our stock.
The Pack button will open all Sale Orders which have items completely or partially ready to Pack & Ship. Each SO will show items contained in it. We can open one of the SO, enter the amount to get packed, and press the “Pack” button.
Ship option will show us all packing lists with customer information that are ready for shipping. Once we open one of the packing lists, we will see content of that packing list with packing list details, the option to enter tracking number, and to add a carrier.
Once we are certain all information is there, we can select the “SHIP” button and our goods are on the way.
Manufacturing in ERPAG
This module allows us to have a complete insight into what is happening on the shop floor during the manufacturing process. From taking raw materials from exact locations in the warehouse, assigning specific work operations to an employee while tracking how much time it took for them to order & complete it, to finally assembling your final product based on the Bill of materials.
Inside ERPAG manufacturing module within the Mobile App, there will be four options that will help us track and execute the whole process. The following are:
- Time sheets
- Load material
- Complete stage
- Product receipt
Timesheets will enlist all Work Orders with work operations attached to them. After we select wanted work operation, timer with options to start work operation, we can Edit, time spent on doing the labour, and work order details. Once the work operation is completed, there is a Complete button in the top right corner.
The Load material option leads to a list of all Work Orders whether they have partially available or fully available quantity. From that point, we are selecting specific work orders and loading necessary quantities of raw materials. After we have done that, the last thing is to click Load materials and everything is set to start the manufacturing process.
Complete stage opens the list of Stages in every manufacturing Work Order that’s included. We find wanted WO, open specific stage and once it is done we need to enter a quantity and click Complete stage.

Product receipt shows a list of Work Orders as well, but in the description, there is an output item which is the final product from raw materials assembled through stages, including work operations. Once we enter one of the previously mentioned WO, remaining step is to enter the amount and just press “Deliver”.
Transfers in ERPAG Mobile App
When there is a need to move some item/s from one warehouse to another, we use Transfers in ERPAG. It allows us to pack, transfer(ship), and receive in the destination warehouse. To have better insight, we will go through each of these options separately.
- Transfer – Pack
- Transfer – Ship
- Transfer – Receive
Transfer – Pack will enlist all active transfers with all required information about them like transfer number, destination and source warehouse, quantity status, as well as all items which are contained in each transfer. Once we find the specific transfer, we can open it and add a number that needs to be transferred, and click “PACK”.
Transfer – Ship button shows us all transfer lists marked as “TRL-xxxxx” which are ready for shipping to a destination warehouse. After we select which transfer we want to ship, we will have the option to add our tracking number, check if all items are there, choose a carrier if needed, and finally ship.
Transfer – Receive shows us all transfers ready to be received when goods arrive at the destination warehouse. We can do that by selecting the transfer list of goods that have arrived and by clicking the “RECEIVE” button after that. Once all the steps have been completed, items will be in destination warehouse stock and ready for further distribution.

Stock adjustments on ERPAG Mobile App
From time to time we need to adjust/correct our inventory quantities without creating purchase orders, sales orders, etc.. It also happens that there is a difference between physical count and stocks amount in ERPAG. That can be easily balanced with the Stock adjustment option, and it also does not affect the whole inventory, but only selected items.
When we select the Stock adjustments option on our mobile app, we will have a list of all stock adjustments made in history and also an option to create a new one. After we create one, add items and quantities we want to amend, one last step is to post the document and all the changes will be applied.
